What it actually costs to hire a pharmacist.
Three numbers, and most owners only ever see one of them. Nothing on this page is our fee — that is quoted in writing when you tell us the role.
1 · Advertising
The cheapest number, and the one owners fixate on.

Campaigns commonly run eight to twelve weeks, so a hard role is two or three advertisements, not one. It is still the smallest line on the page — and the reason advertising is not what you are really buying.
2 · The agency
Two structures, and they behave very differently as the salary rises.
Agency fee on a package of
$110,000On a $110,000 package, the gap between the cheapest and the dearest percentage quote you will be given is $16,500 — for filling the same vacancy.

3 · The open vacancy
The number nobody invoices you for.
This is almost always the largest of the three and it never appears on a quote. Reduced trading hours. A Pharmacist in Charge covering six days. Locum cover at short-notice rates while you wait. Scripts walking to the pharmacy down the road and not walking back. And the staff you still have watching how long it takes you to fix it.
We are not going to put a dollar figure on that, because it is different in every store and a made-up number would be worth nothing to you. But it is the number worth doing the arithmetic on before deciding an agency is expensive.
